China had the most advanced cold weapon casting technology in ancient China. With the gradual increase of centralization power, the restrictions on cold weaponry have become more and more serious. The economic decline has made the national army unable to afford the high-cost and complicated craftsmanship of the Han and Tang Dynasties, Martial spirit decline, the emergence of hot weapons makes the development of cold weapons stagnant. In contrast, in Japan under the feudal system, the disputes among local aristocrat families were maintained and the martial tradition maintained. However, the low productivity had made weapons and equipment passed from generation to generation and was extremely rare.
