计算机于1946年在美国诞生后,西方拼音文字很方便地直接进入计算机,在新的科学技术挑战面前,我们的拼形文字能否进入计算机?计算机输入汉字的速度又如何呢?这些问题一直受到国内外舆论界的关注。 汉字能否进入计算机?这个问题早在70年代末我国著名科学家钱伟长教授已作出肯定的回答。钱老曾对一位西方专家说:“中国人发明方块字,肯定能与电子计算机结合,汉字文化同样能走向现代化。汉字输入电脑,我们九亿多人口一定能搞成。”10余年过去了,我国科技工作者攻克了汉字输入计算机的种种难关,“中文电脑”问世了,人们已不再怀疑汉字能否进入计算机。
