东乡族因居河州(今甘肃省临夏回族自治州)的东乡地区而得名;是甘肃省特有少数民族之一;也是新中国成立后最先被识别的民族,还组建起东乡族自治县。1998年迁至酒泉市的玉门小金湾乡。迁居户主要居住在安西(今甘肃省酒泉市瓜州县),玉门次之,肃州区再次,敦煌零星可见。东乡族集神话、音乐、史诗、舞蹈、曲艺、剪纸、绘画、刺绣等艺术和技艺,以及东乡族礼仪、节日、民族体育等活动,是东乡族民族传统文化的主要表现
The Dongxiang is named after Dongxiang, which is home to Hezhou (now Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province). It is one of the unique ethnic minorities in Gansu Province. It is also the first identified ethnic group after the founding of People’s Republic of China and also formed the Dongxiang Autonomous County. In 1998 moved to Jiuquan Xiaoyuwan Township. The relocated households mainly live in Anxi (now Guazhou County, Jiuquan City, Gansu Province), followed by Yumen County, and once again in Suzhou District, Dunhuang can be seen sporadically. Dongxiang is a collection of Dongxiang ethnic traditions such as mythology, music, epic poetry, dance, folk art, paper cutting, painting and embroidery, as well as Dongxiang people’s etiquette, festivals and national sports.
