高速公路已成为高速、快捷、安全、方便的代名词。它具有运行速度快,通过能力大,运营时间省,投资效益好等众多优点。随着我国高速公路近30年的迅速发展,东部、南部等省份已形成完善的高速公路网,路网已经向西部多山地区全面铺开,隧道数量大幅攀升,截止2010年底,我国高速公路通车里程达到了7.4万km,其中公路隧道通车里程近1万km。从节能角度出发,一般情况下,隧道照明较路段设计速度低一档(20km/h)进行设计。但隧道限速标志的设计往往受制于隧道内照明设计标准。
