任伯年,号寿道士,是清朝末年的著名画家。他的绘画题材丰富多彩,在山水画、人物画、花卉画等各方面都有很高的造诣,是“海上画派”的重要代表人物,他的绘画在江浙一带影响非常大。任伯年很小就开始跟随父亲学习绘画,在绘画的技巧上,奠定了坚实的绘画基础。在他绘画的所有类型中,人物画对中国画的贡献是最深远的,是最具有时代意义的,突破了传统绘画思想的局限性,着重于追求绘画的艺术性和真实美,这在中国绘画史上,有着不可动摇的的历史地位和重要价值,对于社会的发展也是一大进步。
