根据中国内燃机学会三届二次常务理事会关于筹建中国内燃机分会的决定,经分会主任委员王立庚同志和分会挂靠单位七一一研究所与有关部门、单位协商,并报请中国内燃机学会秘书处同意,于1991年6月14～16日在江苏太仓召开了特种发动机分会成立大会。来自全国有关部委、中国内燃机学会及其所属分会、有关科研、生产、教学等23个单位33名代表出席了会议。
