It is a major problem in the production of foundry cutting tools that the metallurgical structure of cast steel has similar cutting performance to the rolled material. In this paper, the molten steel modified by rare earth metal is studied, which can disperse the brittle eutectic ledeburite and make the carbides refine and distribute uniformly. Denaturants used in the treatment are -1 (14-5-78-76), -1 (14-5-50-74), (14-139-88-77), and cerium iron.
