Prior to the start of World War II, most countries did not attach great importance to the dual-use heavy-duty multipurpose fighter jets because single-fighter jets were almost capable of performing daytime combat missions. Only Germany, since the early 1930s, has been developing the BF -110 heavy long-range double fighter. After World War II, the RAF discovered a lack of a heavy fighter jet capable of performing a variety of missions longer than the “Hurricane,” “Spitfire,” fighter for a longer period of time. This pressing need gave the British aircraft manufacturer the opportunity to flourish, a chance the Bristolian Aircraft Company seized.
