西番莲,原产巴西。多年来在我国台湾、广东、广西、云南、福建都有种植。具有番石榴、香蕉、菠萝、芒果、杨梅、杨挑、杏、桃子等水果香气,称为百香果。已制成饮料、副食品、饲料、药材等多种系列产品。不但具有出口创汇的较高的经济效益,而且有绿化荒山、美化环境的生态效益和增强人体体质的社会效益。开发西番莲投资少,易种植,周期短,是治穷致富短平快新兴项目。
