金龟子是蛴螬成虫。抓住防治适期,用药剂喷粉法,可把金龟子消灭在盛发期后至产卵之前。 东北大黑鳃金龟的发生期,多在5月上、中旬(辽南、辽西),以及下旬(中部、辽北)。各地防治适期,应根据田间观测结果决定,即出土成虫性比接近1:1(雌为0.8,雄为1.2时)后的1～2天为防治适期。该虫雌雄的鉴别,可观察其前臀节腹板,雄性前臀节腹板呈明显的三角形洼坑,雄性前臀节腹板有一枣红色月牙形骨片。
