Located in the northeastern edge of the Chengdu Plain of Sichuan Basin, Jintang is between 30 degrees and 50 minutes north latitude. It is one of the major citrus producing areas in Sichuan and is famous for producing summer orange in the upper reaches of Tuojiang River. As early as 1938, the old Sichuan University introduced a few strains of summer orange from abroad, first in Jintang Zhaizhen near planted. After the liberation, Jintang’s summer orange production has increased, reaching more than 220,000 kg in 1975. Has now developed to about 500,000, with the southern Sichuan Jiang’an County has been the provincial foreign trade sector as summer orange export production base.
