The world’s first Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) International Conference was held in the suburbs of Bonn, Germany, March 26-29, 1996. The conference was co-chaired by the German Defense Research Laboratory, the German Aerospace Center and the German Science Foundation, and was chaired by Dr Richard Klemm, a renowned radar scientist at the German Defense Research Laboratory. The contents of the conference focused on the application of new systems, new technologies and new methods as well as SARs, especially in the areas of multi-frequency multi-polarization SAR, SAR and SAR compatibility with moving targets. 1 multi-band, multi-polarization SAR different applications require different frequency bands. At present, the spaceborne and airborne radars are generally moving towards multi-band and multipolarization. 1.1 Germany X-SAR system
