The authors use second-order linear systems to characterize simple shaped bodies in a uniform current field. The response of the geoelectric section to the step signal is a linear combination of two exponential functions. Studies show that the two time constants of the system are only related to the geophysical parameters, their values are constant for the entire observation section, The coefficients before the exponential function are related to the geometry factor in addition to the geophysical parameters. The values and sign of the two coefficients are variable at different measuring points in the profile. Therefore, there may be 8 different types of discharge curves. The authors also studied the effect of charging duration on the discharge curve. Theoretical calculation results can be well explained. Burlington, J. Rob and Fu Liangkui field measurements and model experimental results, and pointed out that there may exist but not yet discovered the phenomenon. The author believes that the theoretical research methods used in this paper can be applied to more complex situations.
