In patients with acute non-lymphocytic leukemia, infection is one of the causes of their aggravating illness and death. However, as much as 24% of the infections occur in the mouth, it is important to exclude potential sources of infection in these patients. The removal of diseased teeth can achieve this goal. Tooth extraction is controversial in patients with acute non-lymphocytic leukemia. It is generally argued that these patients should avoid tooth extraction. This article reports on tooth extraction in patients with acute non-lymphocytic leukemia (severe local and systemic complications). The conclusion is that the full evaluation of patients, surgery carefully, these patients are able to tooth extraction. From June 1976 to January 1981, 119 teeth were performed on 28 patients at the Baltimore Cancer Research Center
