1948年5月5日,国民党政府在中国大陆统治期的最后一届全国运动会——七届全运会开幕。这届全运会所以能够举行,除了国民党当局众所周知的目的外,还因为14届奥林匹克运动会将于1948年7月29日在英国伦敦举行,选拔国手迫在眉睫。这届全运会可以说是在资金不足、筹备时间极为仓促的情况下举办的。本文根据当时的《大公报》、《申报》、《东南日报》、《全运十报联合特刊》、《正言报全运特刊》等有关报导和资料,将运动会的情况介绍几个片断,以飨读者。
May 5, 1948, the Kuomintang government ruled in mainland China the last National Games - the Seventh National Games opening.
