中国科学院北京植物研究所,自与前静生生物调查所合併後,植物分类学方面,图书、标本与人力在京津区已渐集中,故集体编纂河北植物誌作为将来编辑全国性植物誌的起点,在各方面说,已极感需要。该所於两所合併之初,即积极敌备此项工作,并於三月三日在西郊公园该所中召集第一次工作会议,除该所全部研究人员及技术人员参加外,并有农业大学、清华大学、北京大学及师范大学数单位中担任植物分类方面的教授多人参加。大会中决议成立一永久性的会议(河北省植物誌工作会议)负责工作的进行,并由此会议中产生
