党的十四大明确地指出,我国经济改革的目标是建立社会主义市场经济新机制。这个机制的建立,必将使整个社会的政治、经济、文化、科学等各个领域发生日新月异的巨大变化。作为大众传播媒介的报纸,面临市场经济的挑战,不仅通过扩版增容,增加信息量来吸引读者,更重要的是树立服务规念,以强化服务功能来满足广大读者的需求。这是当今报纸发展的必然趋向。
The 14th National Party Congress made it clear that the goal of China’s economic reform is to establish a new socialist market economy mechanism. The establishment of this mechanism will surely bring about tremendous changes in the political, economic, cultural and scientific fields of the entire society with each passing day. As a mass media, newspapers face the challenges of a market economy. They not only attract readers by expanding their capacity and increasing the amount of information, but more importantly, they set up rules of service to strengthen service functions to meet the needs of readers. This is an inevitable trend of today’s newspaper development.
