为了提高上海梅山冶金公司二期扩建后的铁矿石原料的自给率,梅山铁矿亦将同时进行二期扩建。鉴于二期选矿所处理的矿石与现在生产处理的矿石有所不同,较为难选,为此,梅山铁矿同时委托鞍山黑色冶金矿山设计研究院、马鞍山矿山研究院,对其二期铁矿石矿样进行实验室规模的选矿工艺流程试验,为二期工程的可行性研究和二期选厂初步设计提供依据。
