In my opinion, the so-called socialist market economy is actually not complicated in the theoretical explanation. It is the commodity economy in which socialism and the market are the major resource allocation mechanism. It is fundamentally different in terms of resource allocation from the highly centralized planned economy practiced in the traditional mode. By adhering to “socialist” rhetoric in front of a market economy and saying that insisting on using the public ownership economy as the dominant national economy and the term “market economy,” it marks our departure from a fair comparison between market economy and capitalism
