Yangluo Village, a channel county in Hunan Province, is a Qiang Village in the southern Yi District and is inhabited by residents of Long and Yang. As it is located in the cargo transportation center, the economic and cultural exchanges in the Yangluo area are active. The spatial layout and monolithic architecture of settlements are affected by the Han culture. This article attempts to investigate the ubiquitousness and uniqueness of Yang’s raging settlements and architectural changes by integrating them into the overall history and culture of the Yi people. The change of this architectural space is closely related to residents’ behaviors and needs. The changes of life production methods and ideology must be reflected in residents’ transformation of space. From this perspective, we can better understand the development trend of traditional Qiang Village buildings.
