Pangs of Love written by David Wong Louie recounts the life experiences between the immigrant parent Mrs.Pang and her American-born Children.Through an analysis of the language and culture communication between Mrs.Pang,Ah-Vee and Mandy,this essay argues that the gap between the first and second generation Chinese Americans can be bridged through a positive acculturation to their dual cultural heritages.It illuminates that the immigrant Chinese parents and their American-born children should take strength from their dual cultural heritages and create a renewed and reinvigorated cultural identity.Key words:
