Objective To investigate the changes of vascular endothelial relaxation and plasma levels of nitric oxide (NO) and angiotensin Ⅱ (AⅡ) in healthy smokers with passive smoking. Methods Ultrasound brachial artery diameter measurement was used to observe the change of brachial artery diameter mediated by 30 blood flow and nitroglycerin in passive smoking, active smoking and normal control, and plasma NO and AⅡ in each group were also measured. Results There was no significant difference in the basic values of brachial artery diameter and nitroglycerin-mediated brachial artery diastolic in the three groups (P> 0.05), but there was a significant difference between the blood flow-mediated vasodilatation passive smoking group and the normal control group P <0.01), no significant difference with smoking group (P> 0.05). NO in the main, passive smoking group reduced, A Ⅱ in the main, passive smoking group increased. Conclusion Passive smoking may lead to impairment of vascular endothelial function in healthy young people, which may be related to the decrease of NO and the increase of AⅡ in plasma.
