参加“城市规划学会1993年年会”的全体代表对当前历史文化地区和风景名胜区出现的建设性破坏普遍感到焦虑和不安,坚信社会经济的快速发展与历史文化及环境的保护不仅没有矛盾,而且是相辅相成互相促进的。在一些专家倡议下,决定发出一份呼吁书,吁请有关部门及社会舆论共同关心和制止类似“杭州西湖边上盲目建设高层建筑”现象的发生。吴良镛、董(钅监)泓、胡序威、赵士修等共105名专家、代表在呼吁书上签了名。现将呼吁书全文刊登如下:
All the participants participating in the Annual Meeting of the Urban Planning Society in 1993 were generally anxious and disturbed by the constructive damage that occurred in historical and cultural areas and scenic spots. They firmly believe that the rapid development of social economy is not inconsistent with the protection of historical culture and the environment. It is mutually reinforcing and mutually reinforcing. Under the initiative of some experts, it was decided to issue a call for appeals to the relevant departments and public opinion to jointly care for and stop the occurrence of similar phenomena such as the blind construction of high-rise buildings along the West Lake in Hangzhou.
