2011年室外赛季开始以来,中国田径有一个很突出的特点,就是女子铅球运动员整体表现优异。来自河北的巩立姣、辽宁的李玲在全国田径大奖赛昆山站,分别投出了20.10米、19.72米,这两项成绩均进入了当时年度世界前三名。巩立姣室内外皆扬威从3～5月,巩立姣2011年前四次参赛,成绩一次比一次好。3月中旬的全国室内锦标赛成都站,这位燕赵女力士以19.93米夺冠。此前其个人室内最好成绩为19.24米,在成都她一下将自己最好成绩提高
