京剧《专诸刺王僚》是全本《鼎盛春秋》中的一出。《鼎盛春秋》以生角为主,曾是程长庚、汪桂芬、王凤卿、杨宝森等著名演员擅演的剧目。故事内容是描写楚平王无道,杀死忠臣伍奢父子。伍子胥为了替父报仇,逃到吴国,结识了孝义双全的专诸,与他结为异姓兄弟。吴王姬僚,好勇而骄,不像公子姬光那样能礼贤下士。伍子胥遂把专诸推荐给姬光。在宴会上,专诸利用献鱼的机会,用鱼藏剑刺死姬僚,帮助姬光夺取了吴国的政权。
