略夹白发,目光炯炯。虽然孙振宇在外界印象中一宜言笑不多,但话语中那股铿锵的力量,不由得人不仔细倾听。1月17日,国家主席江泽民根据全国人大常委会的决定,任命孙振宇为中华人民共和国常驻世界贸易组织代表,特命全权大使,兼任中国驻联合国日内瓦办事处和瑞士其他国际组织副代表。这对于任何一位官员来说,都不是轻松的事。孙振宇1969年毕业于北京外语学院,长期在外经贸领域工作,1990年8月出任外经贸部美洲大洋洲司司长,1994年11月起任外经贸部副部长。他不但英语娴熟,法语也相当流利,连外经贸部翻译处的专业翻译都感叹:“不得不佩服,孙部长确实很专业。”他曾参加和主持过中美纺织品谈判、中美知识产权谈判等重要谈判。

He was not only fluent in English but also fluent in French. Even the professional translators at the MOFTEC translation department laments: “I have to admire that Minister Sun is really professional.” He has participated in and presided over the Sino-U.S. Textile negotiations, Sino-US negotiations on intellectual property rights Other important negotiations.
