2017春节刚过,我国的地质公园建设又传来好消息,河南省国土资源厅印发了《关于禹州华夏植物群省级地质公园命名的批复》函,同意禹州华夏植物群省级地质公园命名并准予揭碑开园。据悉,华夏植物群地质公园是国内第一个古植物化石地质遗迹应用于旅游开发的地质公园。有关专家认为,各地尚无以古植物为主题的地质公园,该公园填补了我国地质公园的一项空白。
