金生,字知瑞,号玖,生于新罗圣德王十年(公元七一一年),约卒于新罗元圣王九～十年(约公元七九一年),一生专攻书法,自古有‘东海书圣’之称,被誉为韩国书法史上第一人。《三国史记》列传中有如下记载:‘金生父母微,不知其世系,生于景云二年(唐睿宗年号,新罗圣德王十年),自幼能书,平生不攻他艺,年逾八十,犹操笔不休,隶书行草皆入神,至今往往有遗迹,学者传宝之。’‘崇宁丁中学士洪灌,随进奉使入宋,馆托汴京。时翰林待诏杨球、李革奉帝敕至馆,书图簇,洪灌以金生行草一卷示之,二人大骇曰:‘不图今日得见王右军手书。’洪灌曰:‘非是,此乃新罗人金生所书也。’二人笑曰:‘天下除右军,焉有妙笔如此哉?’洪灌屡言之,终不信。’高丽肃宗时(宋崇宁中—公元一一○二～一一○六八年),洪灌出使宋朝,将金生行草一卷示宋朝臣杨球、李革,二人皆以为是王羲之真迹,始终不信是金生所书,可见金生妙笔可比右军! 高丽李奎报著《东国李相国集》中评东方神品有四人,金生第一。云:‘东国诸贤书诀论序并赞,晋阳公令述曰:‘盖我国之第一人者,有与逸少无异者,
