第55届威尼斯电影节日前在丽都岛节日宫举行闭幕颁奖典礼,本届电影节有三大意外。其一,担任威尼斯电影节主席两年的费里切·劳达迪奥,突然在颁奖前夕提交了辞职信。他在信中称这种竞赛“既愚蠢又傲慢”。他说,每年有这么多影片参赛,又有这么多奖项评出,所以建议取消竞赛,只颁发一个奖,给予“观众最喜爱的影片”。终身成就奖本来规定只颁给两人,不知怎么,评委会突然又把该奖颁给了61岁的华伦·比蒂,他执导并主演的《布尔沃恩》被看好是夺金狮奖的大热门。
