要提高浏览的运行速度,不外乎用提高机器的硬件配置和对软件的某些参数进行修改的方法。对于一个上网爱好者来说,更改一台机器的硬件配置无论从技术还是从经济角度上说都是相当困难的。因此,利用软件参数的修改来提高运行速度应为首选方法。下面以 Netscape3.0 为例,探讨一下利用软件设置提高浏览器速度的方法。首先,关掉一些不必要的图片。因为网上传输的数据中有相当一部分是图像信息,同一站点访问几次后,这些图像信息对你来说已不再重要。这时可选 Option—Auto LoadImages(自动装载图片)项并取消打钩标记。关掉之后如果再想查看某个图片,同一站点则可以用鼠标右键点击表示该图片的小图标,这时弹出一个菜单选 load Images,则显示该图片。若想看所有关掉的图片,可单击Images 工具按钮。其次,适当增加 cache(高速缓存)的大小。当你回到你以前看过的某个文档时,你会发现调出速度快多了。这是因为 Netscape 并非重新到 Internet 上去取它,而是直接从
