The Aspen Ideas Festival is a summer annual forum where participants discuss interesting points of view, some of which are less likely to be achieved and some of which are important. This year’s event has a major theme, that is, employment. How can the U.S. narrow the skills gap and where do we find good middle-class jobs in the future? I hear some people appealing to the government to increase infrastructure investment and develop our energy resources to create jobs. Some speakers believe that innovation can lead to good jobs, while others are concerned that some innovations - such as robotics - will prevent people from finding a good job. Thorn, 40, is a visiting associate professor at MIT Sloan School of Management at M.i.t. She brings to this Aspen Thought Festival
