恩施土家族苗族自治州是我省惟一的少数民族自治州。全州377.6万人,其中,土家族、苗族、侗族、蒙古族、白族等少数民族人口占52.6％。据2002年秋季统计,全州中、小学生582678人,其中少数民族学生409745人,占70.3％。建州以来,特别是近5年来,中共恩施州委、州人民政府认真落实教育优先发展的战略地
Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture is the only minority autonomous prefecture in our province. There are 3.766 million people in the state, of which 52.6% are ethnic minorities such as Tujia, Miao, Dong, Mongolian and Bai nationalities. According to the autumn statistics in 2002, there were 582,678 primary and secondary school students in the state, of whom 409,745 were minority students, accounting for 70.3%. Since the founding of the state, especially in the past five years, the CPC Enshi Prefecture Committee and State People’s Government have earnestly implemented the strategic priority of education
