The extraordinary artistic charm of Shakespeare plays can not be separated from the clever use of unique and rich images. The “poison” image in Hamlet can find different connotations from different levels. From an objective point of view, it is an objective thing that can kill people. In the subjective emotion, it has more or less the projection of author’s emotion, which has some symbolic meaning. Tangible poison exists in the play, there is also hidden invisible poison, which invisible poison hidden in human nature, spread in society. To some extent, “Poison” as an image embodies Shakespeare’s thinking on human nature. Criticism of society permeates Shakespeare’s humanist ideal.
