IBM公司一项长期计划的制定工作目前已经接近尾声,该计划将把加密、集群及可缩放性等主机技术移置到其Netfinitvy服务器上。据了解IBM公司有关人士透露,这项计划将于9月23日被公布。届时,IBM公司将发布3款新型Netfinity服务器,其中包括用于加密的56位CryptoCard、每秒17MB ESCON(企业系统连接)适配器和该公司第一款以IBM为品牌的光纤通道存储产品。届时IBM公司还将发布基于WindowsNT的SP2交换机,该交换机最多可提供1000个与一台Netfinity服务器连接的节点,并同时宣布将其Parallel Sysplex集群技术迁移到Netfinity产品线上的计划。据消息人士称,新的Netfinity服务器最多可使用4块Intel Pentium Ⅱ Xeon处理器,而ESCON适配器在一台Netfinity应用程序服务器与一台数据服务器,如主机之间提供高速通道连接。Symbiosis公司目前正在与IBM公司合作开发光纤通道子系统。 IBM公司的SP2交换机现在可用于RS/6000服务器。该产品的NT版本最多可提供1000个与一台Netfinity服务器相连的
The long-awaited plan for IBM Corp. is drawing to a close, and the plan is to move host technologies such as encryption, clustering and scalability to its Netfinitvy server. It is understood that IBM company sources said the plan will be announced on September 23. By then, IBM will announce three new Netfinity servers, including a 56-bit CryptoCard for encryption, a 17MB ESCON (Enterprise System Connectivity) adapter per second, and the company’s first IBM-branded Fiber Channel storage product. IBM will also release a Windows NT-based SP2 switch that will provide up to 1,000 nodes to connect to a Netfinity server and announce plans to migrate its Parallel Sysplex cluster technology to the Netfinity product line. According to sources, the new Netfinity server can use up to four Intel Pentium II Xeon processors, while ESCON adapters provide high-speed channel connectivity between a Netfinity application server and a data server, such as a host computer. Symbiosis is currently working with IBM to develop Fiber Channel subsystems. IBM’s SP2 switch is now available for RS / 6000 servers.
