OBJECTIVE: To establish an experimental animal model for simulating low pressure movement of anterior teeth in a clinical trial and to evaluate its effectiveness in lowering the anterior teeth, laying the foundation for subsequent series of studies. Methods: Nine dogs were selected. Each dog was implanted with mini-implants at the labial alveolar spaces between the second and third incisors’ roots on both sides of the maxillary as a support. 100g of traction force was applied on each side Upper teeth. Results: There was a significant downward movement of the upper anterior teeth with an average reduction of 2.83 ± 0.28 mm in the circumference. There was no loosening of the micro-implants and no displacement of the dental implants. CONCLUSIONS: Dogs can be used as an experimental model. Micro-implants can be used as an effective orthodontic support to lower the anterior teeth and establish a scientific, simple and reliable experimental animal model of orthodontic tooth movement with low pressure. The force of depression is accurate and controllable .
