In recent years, a new generation of information and communication technologies have permeated all aspects of government, enterprises and society. New technologies, new ideas and new practices such as social media, mobile internet, cloud computing, internet of things, smart cities, big data and open data have profoundly changed the way organizations and individuals interact. Government governance ushered in a new opportunity, but also faces enormous challenges. In order to further study the new problems and new trends that electronic governance faces, promote the understanding and judgment of electronic governance by academics and practitioners and jointly explore the future of electronic governance, the Fudan University School of International Relations and Public Affairs The International Seminar on “The Future of Electronic Governance” co-sponsored by “Governance Lab” and “E-government” magazine was held at Fudan University’s School of International Relations and Public Affairs from October 27 to 28, 2013.
