Strictly speaking, a Bouguer error is the difference between the observed gravity value at a certain point and the normal theoretical gravity of the Earth at the corresponding horizontal plane. If the observation points deviate significantly from this plane, it is necessary to restore the data to a common plane prior to interpretation; otherwise false anomalies will inevitably occur. Its handling is based on the usual solution to the Dickly problem. The proposed procedure is applied to an artificial but realistic model to show the effectiveness of the method.
