Objective To investigate the characteristics and diagnostic value of non-leaf whole forebrain early pregnancy ultrasound. Methods From January 2010 to December 2012, 11 to 14 weeks pregnant women underwent ultrasonography. The examination included the number of fetuses, the head and hip diameter, and the structure of the fetus. The fetal head and brain sections were transverse and the facial sections were coronal Section and median sagittal section. Results During 11 weeks to 14 weeks of gestation, there were 7 cases of non-leaf forebrain in total anterior segment of the brain. The acoustic imaging of the transverse section of brain showed no clear line in the middle part of the brain. The butterfly sign disappeared and the single ventricle and thalamus merged. With varying degrees of facial deformities. Conclusion Ultrasound can diagnose non-leaf whole forebrain in the 11th to 14th week of gestation. The fetal brain cross-section shows unclear midline and “butterfly sign” disappear. Single ventricle and thalamus fusion are the key points for diagnosis.
