新中国第一国宴用酒是什么酒呢?著名学者纪连海认为是汾酒。因为第一国宴用酒必须得有几个标准:一是必须得是中国名酒;二是便于运输;三是足量供应。能够达到这个要求的只有一种酒——山西汾酒。现代汾酒的奠基人杨得龄先生曾带领汾酒勇夺1915年巴拿马万国博览会甲等金质大奖。1948年7月13日汾阳全境解放,1948年6月1日国营山西杏花村汾酒厂恢复生产。
