夏金桥从小就对写字、画画,有浓厚兴趣。1996年,他凑集了3000元,租了一间7平方米的小门面,挂了个“金桥工艺美术店”的招牌,发挥自己书画特长,搞石材雕刻,做招牌,敲铜字。由于门面小,一连好几天,没一个顾客光顾。他想出一招,制作了大量的样品摆放在门店外面以示实力。这一招果然有效,一天,有个机电公司的客户走到店前,决定做个招牌,字体就点夏金桥的行书。这是夏金桥的第一笔业务。他要把它变成一个不花钱的广告。他把这个很普通的招牌当作进京参赛的艺术作品来干,从字体的设计,到材料的选用,再到一笔一画的雕刻,都花了不少心血。那位客户十分满意,又介绍了两位朋友来
Xia Jinqiao grew up interested in writing and painting. In 1996, he collected 3,000 yuan, rented a small facade of 7 square meters and hung a sign of “Golden Bridge Arts and Crafts Store”. He made use of his calligraphy and painting skills, engaged in stone carving, made signboards and knocked on copper characters. Due to the small facade, for several days, no one customer patronage. He came up with a trick and made a lot of samples out of the store to show his strength. This tactic really effective, one day, a mechanical and electrical company’s customers came to the shop, decided to be a signboard, the font on the point of Xia Jinqiao’s book. This is the first business of Xiajinqiao. He wants to turn it into a non-spending advertising. He regarded this very ordinary signboard as a work of art competing in Beijing. From the design of the fonts to the selection of materials and the engraving of a stroke of painting, he spent a lot of effort. The client was very satisfied and introduced two friends
