林散之先生以诗书画三绝称著,其书风向以淡然立意,书境深遂老迈,宛如老僧涅,凡胎脱尽,满纸烟云,这些都与林老的人品和学养分不开。七十年代初,中日邦交恢复,北京《人民中国》杂志日文版出版中国书法特辑,林散之狂草毛泽东《会昌》词条幅入选并排名第一。从此林老书名初震东瀛。随后日本书道访华团来南京,指名求见林散之先生。时林老卜住乌江乡下,专车从乌江接回南京,寄住南京艺术学院。接见那天,日本书道代表团依次鱼贯进入,虔诚恭敬拜见先生。林老当场命笔,一气呵成自作诗四首横卷两幅,赠日本友人一幅。诗
Mr. Lin Sanzhi is famous for his poetic calligraphy and painting. The style of his book is indifferent to his writing style. His writing is as old as the old monk, not open. In the early 1970s, the restoration of diplomatic relations between China and Japan resumed. The Japanese edition of Peoples’ China Magazine published a special edition of Chinese calligraphy and the slogan of Huicong Mao Tse-tung’s Huichang was selected and ranked first.
