在敷设石油、天然气、水煤气管道的过程中,钢管需要从生产厂运送到施工现场。长途的倒运,钢管被不断地起上吊下,不可避免地使钢管相互碰撞,尤其是因吊装方法不当,也可能使钢管两头端面的倒棱钝边损坏,见图1,造成钢管对接困难。严重的还要将原倒棱处用氧乙炔割去,重新倒棱修钝边。既费工,又对对接焊口质量影响很大。因此,这样的钢管是不符合美国 APl—SPEC·5L 关于《螺旋焊缝输送管》标准第7.5节上规定的要求。故保护钢管端部钝边不受损坏的工作不容忽视。国外很重视钢管从生产到现场施工的保护
