陈汝惠是孤岛时期“抗建文学”的代表作家。其创作表现了孤岛知识分子关于爱情的纯美想象,无论是爱情内容还是爱情叙述,都赓续了五四校园文学的浪漫遗风;但其大多数的创作都以抗战为题材,充分展现了国家和人民在苦难中的坚韧抗敌精神,并从宗教生命观角度论证了民族战争的正义性。其战时创作体现了孤岛知识分子对于国家民族的责任,也说明了“抗建文学”的抗战精神是值得肯定的。
