甜菜病毒病即黄化病毒病在大部分甜菜种植区均有发生.此病由病毒引起,最常见的为强黄化病毒引起,而弱黄化病毒引起的较少.甜菜感染强黄化病毒(beet yellowsvirus)后,低层和中层叶片顶端变黄并渐向整个叶片扩散,最后仅叶脉和少部分沿叶脉组织留有绿色,叶片增厚变脆并过早枯萎、坏死.病毒微粒线状,大小为1250×10毫米(Duffus 1973).近年来,弱黄化病毒(beet mild yel-lowing virus)在甜菜种植区也可以看到.
