The ancient villages in Huizhou are one of the carriers of Hui culture, and their unique natural and human resources have become the choice of tourism developers. Therefore, the ancient villages in Huizhou become “Commons ” which can be entered with low cost. The ever-increasing traffic has caused the “tragedy of the commons” phenomenon. The material and cultural resources and the ecological environment in ancient villages have been destroyed to some extent. The sustainable development of the ancient villages in Huizhou requires the systematic management and protection of public resources, starting with the three aspects of ecological environment, cultural landscape and population and society.
