海登·怀特以诗性预构为核心建构的历史解释模式,实现了西方历史哲学的文化转向。诗性预构的提出,揭示了历史解释之中的文化精神的内涵及其对于历史解释具有的重要意义。而以诗性预构为核心建立起来的解释模式则表明具体的历史解释的过程中各种不同的文化精神之间的内在张力,正是这种张力才使历史著作始终保持着内在的统一性。这种文化精神的内在张力,在他自己的历史哲学体系中就表现为浓厚的后现代主义文化意味。
Hayden White took the mode of historical explanation with the construction of poetic preconstruction as the core, and realized the cultural shift of western historical philosophy. The proposal of poetic preconstruction reveals the connotation of cultural spirits in historical interpretation and its significance for historical interpretation. The mode of explanation, which is based on the theory of poetic preconstruction, shows that the intrinsic tension between different cultural spirits in the process of specific historical interpretation is precisely the kind of tension that keeps the historical works inherently unified . The inherent tension of this cultural spirit manifests itself as a strong postmodernist culture in his own system of historical philosophy.
