影响儿童学习主动性的因素主要有两个,一是儿童自身的学习经验及其对学习活动本身的感受,包括儿童是否具有学习的需要,即是不是“我要学”;儿童对学习内容或学习过程是否感兴趣,能否在学习中体验到乐趣;学习活动有否使儿童产生成功感,使他提高自尊感,增强自信心等。二是学习活动以外的一些相关因素,包括外界,如家长、教师或同伴等对儿童学习的关注、要求,对儿童学习成效的反馈,与学生学习成绩直接挂钩的批评和奖励,以及将来的升学或求职出路等等。
