蚕沙是蚕粪与桑渣的统称,营养丰富。据测定:含粗蛋白14.28%、粗脂肪7.41%、粗纤维19.7%、无氮浸出物44.57%,还含有维生素 A和 E 等畜禽鱼生长繁殖所需的营养物质,其营养价值相当于优质麸皮,且清香可口,采集方便,是畜禽鱼的好饲料,但现在用作饲料的比例很小,大部分直接作肥料,实在可惜。1.饲用方法 (1)鲜喂法先将蚕粪与桑渣分开,桑渣可直接喂牛、羊、兔等食草牲畜;蚕粪用热水浸泡6～8小时,使其软化,再与其它饲料拌和即可喂猪、牛、兔、鸡等;也可直接用蚕沙喂鱼;蚕沙还可直接加入兔饲料中制成
