The Schulz-Phelps type high-pressure ionization gauge is modified to provide a grid between its cathode and ion collector plates to measure pressures higher than 100 Pa. To this end, we use a uniform electric field and a parallel plane electrode gauge structure, ion drift velocity in the electric field and the pressure dependence of the interpretation of the scope of the ionization gauge. The theoretically derived curves (with the aid of classical formulas commonly used in electron tubes) and experimental curves all exhibit the same trend that the ratio of the gate ion current to the collector ion current (in the range of about 100 Pa to 1000 Pa IG / IIK) and pressure are approximately linear
