硼是植物必需的微量元素。苹果是需硼较多的果树之一,对缺硼较为敏感。苹果缺硼症在辽宁、四川、陕西、河北等省都曾有发生。根据我们的调查,湖北苹果主要产区麻城、枣阳等县,都普遍发生苹果缺硼症。如麻城县顺河公社果园曾因发生缺硼症造成幼树成片死亡,枣阳县塔湾果园普遍发生缩果病,失去食用价值,造成经济损失。1982—1983年,我们对苹果的缺硼症状与施用硼肥的效果,进行了多点调查与定位试验,兹将主要结果报道于后。
